INTRODUCTION |
Alberta is bordered on the west by British Columbia, on the south by the State of Montana, on the east by Saskatchewan and on the north by the Northwest Territories. Culturally diverse, and politically and environmentally secure, Alberta has one of the strongest economies in North America. The population is approximately 3,100,000 in Alberta.

As a Province of Canada, Alberta has a parliamentary system of government. The government is made up of ministries, agencies and other offices.

CORPORATE REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY |
- Corporate names must include one of the following: Limited, Ltd., Incorporated, Inc., Corporation, Corp., or certain French variations of the foregoing
- A numbered company is possible in Alberta
- A numbered "corporation" is an entity that is issued a number by the corporate registry such as "842613 Alberta Ltd."
- The objective of a numbered company is to avoid having to do a Name Search (Name Reservation)
- The entity is assigned the next sequential number issued by the Ministry in the jurisdiction. It cannot be self-selected
- The Annual Return is due on the anniversary date of the corporate registration in the Province
- A company is cancelled from the Corporate Registry after one year and three months past the due date
