INTRODUCTION |
Nunavut was created April 1, 1999 as a result of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement. Nunavut is a growing society that blends traditions with diversity. Nunavut occupies the eastern part of Canada's Northwest Territories.
Nunavut, which means "our land" in the Inuit language, was the first self-governing indigenous territory in North America. The population is approximately 29,000 in Nunavut.

LAW AND TAXATION |
As a Territory of Canada, Nunavut has a parliamentary system of government. The government is made up of ministries, agencies and other offices.

CORPORATE REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY |
- One or more persons may incorporate a corporation
- The incorporator(s) must sign the Articles of Incorporation
- The last word of the name of the corporation must be "Limited", "Limitee", "Incorporated", "Incoporee", "Corporation", "Societe", or the abbreviation "Ltd.", "Ltee", "Inc.", or "Corp."
- A numbered company is possible in Nunavut. A numbered "corporation" is an entity that is issued a number by the corporate registry such as "842613 Nunavut Ltd."
- The objective of a numbered company is to avoid having to do a Name Search (Name Reservation)
- The entity is assigned the next sequential number issued by the Ministry in the jurisdiction. It cannot be self-selected
