INTRODUCTION |
Liberia is located in Western Africa bordering the North Atlantic Ocean between Cote d'Ivoire and Sierra Leone. The population is approximately 3,000,000. Seven years of civil strife were brought to a close in 1996 when free and open presidential and legislative elections were held.

LAW AND TAXATION |
Liberia has a dual system of statutory law based on Anglo-American common law for the modern sector and customary law based on unwritten tribal practices for the indigenous sector.

CORPORATE REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY |
- A Liberian company must have at least 3 directors unless there are fewer than 3 shareholders
- If there are fewer than three shareholders, the number of directors must match the number of shareholders
- Fees are based on capital - if the capital is more than $50,000 or 500 shares, the fee will increase
- Standard share authorization is 500 at no par value of registered and/or bearer shares
- Annual Returns are not required. Companies only need to pay annual renewal fees
