Corporation Service Company (CSC) and the USA Patriot Act

Effective October 28, 2002

USA Patriot Act - Final Rules Become Effective
On October 28, 2002, the United States Treasury Department's final rule implementing two key provisions of the USA Patriot Act affecting foreign banks with correspondent accounts maintained by U.S. banks and U.S. securities brokers became effective. These provisions of the Act are aimed at preventing money laundering and terrorist financing. Among the requirements of the final rule, foreign banks must designate an agent for service of legal process from the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury or the Attorney General of the United States.

CSC can act as the designated agent for service of legal process under the Act, and can provide you with the U.S. Treasury Department's Certification form for foreign banks. For more information on how CSC can assist you in meeting the process agent requirements of the Act, please call a Customer Service Representative at 800-927-9800 (within the U.S.) or 302-636-5400 (international), or email us at our special Patriot Act address: patriot@cscinfo.com. Additional information on the USA Patriot Act can be found on the U.S. Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network web site, at www.fincen.gov/patriotact.html.
