Nevada Business License Changes Effective Immediately Posted:8/11/03

Effective immediately, Nevada Senate Bill 8 requires that every person who conducts business in Nevada have a business license. The business license must be on a form provided by the Secretary of State, state the name under which the entity transacts or intends to transact business and the location of the business, state the number of employees for the previous calendar quarter and pay a $100 fee. The license must be signed by the business owner, member, partner, officer or other authorized person (signors authorization must be included). Renewal of the business license is due on or before the last day of the month of the anniversary date of the business license. Verification that the business license was filed is required when filing the Annual List. Penalty for failure to file a business license results in a penalty of $100.
