What is your full title and how long have you been with Global Financial Markets (GFM)?
My title is GFM manager, and I’ve been in this position for one and a half years.
Give us a little insight into your role and what you do.
It’s my responsibility to lead the CSC Shenzhen team to provide the highest quality services to our clients, support the business development team to fulfill target sales revenue, implement company rules and regulations, promote positive workplace culture, and motivate employees to meet CSC goals.
Why did you choose to work for CSC?
I had been working for Koehler Group since November 2003 when CSC acquired the company. CSC has a more international focus than Koehler Group, and I’m honored to be a member of CSC and Global Financial Markets.
What has your career growth been like at CSC? Is there someone who helped you?
My career here progressed from a senior accountant to supervisor, then to assistant GFM manager, and my current role as GFM manager. A CSC VP recognized and supported my dedication to my work when he relocated to APAC. His recognition was encouraging, and I was determined to do my best to maximize my contribution to the company. It was his encouragement and support that ignited my passion and motivated me to try to reach my full potential. My managing director has been helpful and supportive as well. She arranged for me to attend diverse CSC training courses to improve my management skills and further enhance my value to the organization. My direct leader is supportive of my day-to-day responsibilities and development. I’ve been truly fortunate to have had encouragement and support throughout my career at CSC. That kind of collaboration is a shared value here.
What makes your team different?
Our team is proud of delivering high-quality services to CSC clients. We achieved 90% NPS scores from clients on the latest survey.
What gets you excited to start work in the morning?
I feel I can thrive and be my best in the CSC culture of openness, transparency, and integrity. I trust that I’ll continue to have opportunities for professional and personal growth and a sense of accomplishment with CSC in the future.
What are you learning now, and why is it important?
I’m studying psychology. It’s interesting and helps in professional and personal relationships because it provides insights into how others think and respond. I’m also studying for an MBA which is directly relevant to my professional life and helping refine my leadership skills.
Name something—big or small—that you’re really good at.
I’m good at long-distance running, particularly the marathon (26.2 miles or 42.1 kilometers). I can run a marathon in four hours.
When you tell people about your job, what’s something that surprises them?
People are surprised that it’s such a harmonic working environment and that teams work together cooperatively and collaboratively—especially since it’s a large global company. Do your interests outside of work tie into your work at CSC?
Facing difficulties and challenges either at work or in life requires grit and persistence to overcome. I bring the same qualities of grit and persistence to training for and running a marathon that I do to solve a challenge for our clients and the CSC team.
