Wilmington, DE (www.cscglobal.com) Corporation Service Company® (CSC®, announces the winner of its 2014/2015 Online Brand Protection Scholarship.

In the fall of 2014, Corporation Service Company opened a contest for students to submit an essay surrounding online brand protection for the chance to win a $1,000 scholarship. Out of 17 submissions from students across the nation, Jillian Schutawie has been chosen as the winner.

The contest asked students to submit a 500-word essay explaining their plan of action as a member of a major corporation launching a new brand. Specific questions addressed how they would determine if their brand was available for registration as a domain, as well as how they would identify where to register their trademarks, and what tools they would use to monitor improper use of their brand.

Jillian's essay presented the most comprehensive plan of action for a new brand in the online space.

A current sophomore at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA, Jillian stressed the importance of registering not just a brand name as a domain but all variations of a brand to ensure consumers can find that brand online. Also included in her submission were recommendations for trademarking not just a brand name, but all its characteristics from the logo to the slogan, as well what tools were best to monitor brands online.

Jillian, a former student of Spring Ford High School, is currently a food marketing major at St. Joseph's University as well as a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority.

CSC is honored to award the $1,000 2014 Online Brand Protection Scholarship to Jillian Schutawie , and wish her continued success in her education.

Another scholarship will be hosted by CSC in the fall of 2015. For more information, please visit our scholarship page for updates on the topic and submission deadline.
